The Gunslinger
This morning I finished reading the book “The Gunslinger”, which is the first in the dark tower series. At first I didn’t find it that enjoyable, but as it went on, I started to get more, and more into it. I don’t want to spoil anything about it, so I will just say this, it is a good book for lovers of fantasy, and those relatively mature. Or at least those that can handle mature content-obviously not for me to judge. The rating I bestow is a solid 8 out of 10. Go read it, you won’t regret it, and I get the feeling the series only gets better.
Also check out Polls, and scroll down, I put something concerning this book, I am not even sure what it is, but its something.

Wreck it Ralph
I recently saw Wreck it Ralph in the movies, which is an animated film that is currently in theaters, it is meant for kids, but despite this I enjoyed it. Overall I found it funny, entertaining, and heartfelt, with many references that even if I hadn’t caught, the movie would have still been just as good. References you say? Well this movie is about the bad guy in a video game called Wreck it Ralph, the thing is he doesn’t want to be a bad guy anymore, so he goes to other games to try and change everything. Don’t get repelled by the words video games, you don’t have to like video games to like this movie, and if you have a family to watch this movie with, then I highly suggest it to you. I give this movie a 10 out of 10 for being what it’s meant to be, a family friendly comedy with some references to some classic video games.

Faster Than Light
This is a game made by an independent publisher and as such you cannot expect brain-shattering graphics. Graphics, however, are far from the most important thing in games, and Faster Than Light does deliver in many other ways, first off although its graphics are not the best, they still get the job done. It is a fun sci-fi themed game where you take control of a crew and ship, a fully customizable crew and ship. There are different weapons, add-ons, and species of aliens to choose from to serve as crewmembers. All of which you get as you play through the game. The games story is not all that important in my opinion, but that is only because you can be a fabulous nerd like me, and invent your own story to go along with the game, you can after all name your ship and members. Overall I give the game an 8 out of 10 because despite finding the game overall enjoyable, addictive, and generally fun. It is single player and as such automatically has limited hours that can be invested into it. Nevertheless I recommend this game to all that enjoy games, and seeing how it is currently on sale on steam, there is no real reason to not purchase it.

Cloud Atlas
I loved this movie. I feel that it is important to say this because I am certainly biased when it comes to reviewing it. Cloud Atlas has many stories that seem to be very different, at least at the start of the movie. As the movie goes on you will see connections, and if you look for them, then you will find a lot of connections, some more obvious then others. The movie has many different genres mixed together as a result of the many intertwining stories. Altogether the movie is thought filled, genre filled, meaning filled, and plainly interesting. My only warning is that it is rated R for a reason. IF you don’t mind a lot of violence, some nudity, and generally content meant for a more mature audience, then I highly recommend this movie to you, but it is not a movie to see as a family.

Survivor (tv show)
This show has existed for a while now and I have watched most episodes from it. Its weaknesses and strengths are both results of the show's entertainment being highly dependent on what people are on it for the current season. Every season a bunch of different people are tested physically and mentally in challenges, as well as with every day life as they must survive in the wild. The challenges are for rewards and for immunity, immunity as in making it impossible for others to vote you out of the game. Yes you read right every episode someone is voted off a tribe or the tribe, depending on how many tribes there are at the moment. Where they are changes constantly... every season they go somewhere new, the new scenery, the changing rules, the changing players of the game that is played for a total of 1 million dollars... well it all makes for an interesting season every time, some more so then others. So I would suggest this show to you, there are many things I have not talked about simply because of how many parts there are to survivor, just trust me and give me a chance. It is good at what it tries to do.

Let me know what you think in the comments section. If you have watched survivor yourself and would like to add something to the topic then feel free to start a discussion about survivor. Or if you watch it and like it, then make sure to let us know.

Firestarter
Summary:
Firestarter is a story about a little girl and her father. The father and the mother both had experiments done on them that did many things to them, many of which are not known. The mom was killed by the same men that conducted the experiments, a secret part of the government known as the shop. The book follows the little girl, who as a result of the experiments done to her parents has the ability to set things on fire, and without actually breaking a sweat… It follows her and her father as they are hunted down by the shop; many flashbacks are included in the story, flashbacks on how everything led to where the are currently.
Review:
Firestarter is a book by the very well known Stephen King; this was the very first thing that I read by him. His reputation is what attracted me to his book, he is well known for putting terror into our hearts, which is quite appropriate with it being Halloween. Personally I did not find it scary, but fast paced and exciting, so even though I did like it, it was not what I expected. Of course it could just be that I picked the wrong novel… he does after all have a very large collection of novels published, and a large amount of these stories by him have even been made into films, including Firestarter. Overall I would rate Firestarter an 8 out of 10 because I did enjoy reading it and did not find any really dull moments in it, even though some scenes would have been with any other author. Warning though I don’t recommend this to those that are looking for a good scare.

Of Mice and Men
Of Mice and Men is a book by John Steinbeck, I have never read anything by him, and I don’t intend to any time soon. Before you scream at me I am not saying he is an untalented writer, by all means he has talent; none of his stories so far actually match my preferred type of story. Now after saying this you may wonder “Then why would you read it in the first place?” A valid argument… I gave it and him a chance because Of Mice and Men gets so much praise. The story is about to friends that have a parent child relationship; this is mainly due to whatever disability it is that the taller stronger one of the two actually has. Lennie is the name of the taller stronger, less intelligent of the two, and George is the name of the parent like, shorter, weaker, smarter of the two. Something quite important about the story is that it is set during the Great Depression, and that both of the men are travelling around working on farms with one goal: To eventually be able to purchase a little house along with a couple of acres. If this seems like your kind of thing then be my guest and go read it, if you like the plot, then you will like the book.As a result of the author's talent for choosing the right words for the right moments and me putting my personal preferences aside, this book is rewarded with a 7 out of 10,

Smite
Smite is one of the many “dota” games that currently exist, like most it is and will always be free to play. Now for those of you that don’t know what “dota” means I will explain to you how the game actually works, but first I shall start with what I think of the main menu. Summarized they provide a simplistic menu that enables even new players to quickly know what’s what. Tutorials are provided, as well as a list of all the playable gods and their abilities. The very first option is play now, which currently brings you to 5 options. Normal match, ranked, 5 man teams only, solo practice match, or joust match. Normal match lets you pick from solo and create a party, solo puts you in a queue that will get you in a match. Then create a party allows you to play with friends and queue with friends…. now on to the gameplay. The whole premise of the game is you get to pick from a bunch of different gods all coming from different old religions and interesting tales. Greek gods, Egyptian gods, Chinese gods, and Hindu gods. All abilities in the game are skill shots. Opposed to auto lock it takes time to get used to, but in the end it is also more satisfying. There are three lanes, in each lane there are two defense towers and a single phoenix, which act as stronger defense towers. The three lanes lead to a minotaur, when your minotaur dies you lose, same goes for the enemy team, so you want to slowly make your way forward by killing the towers and phoenixes. Along with the immobile defenses, creeps, which are really just creatures that are on your side, also help. Creeps have a predestined path that they take, and while going along this path they attack enemy creeps and gods. Max level in the game is 20, you gain xp by killing creeps and enemy gods. Don’t worry, when you do die you respawn and there is even a respawn timer that lets you know how much time you have left to wait. Lastly there are areas on the map labeled as jungle; these areas have fog of war and creatures that give bonuses when killed, such as faster health regeneration. All together this game is very fun for beta and is updated weekly. You play in a team of 5, vs 5 other players and attempt to level, kill enemy gods, and to make your way forward towards the minotaur. Comment and let me know what you think of my first review on a game, also if you are interested in playing the game I have some spare keys to give away.

Loopers
For this Wednesday I am going to do a review for Looper, a relatively new movie that I recently saw in the movies. When the time machine is created it is immediately made illegal, but the mob uses it to dispose of people because at the time it is nearly impossible to get rid of all evidence. All of the people are killed and disposed of by people called Loopers, hence the title. The main character is a Looper and all the action starts when he fails to kill himself, his future self is sent back to be killed, to be killed by him. Summed up this movie has a couple of good jokes, a lot of action, and a generally cool idea with a good ending. I normally do not like movies with time travel, but if you like action or twists I suggest Looper. Now I did my best to say what I thought of the movie without doing any spoilers comment down below if you would rather have me go into a lot of detail and have a lot of spoilers, or if you would rather have me continue to do things like this.

Kickstarter
Is there anything you want to do that requires a lot of support or money, something like self-publishing? Well there is a great website that allows for people to find many different projects that need funding. This website is called Kickstarter and it has a wide variety of different things that get backed every day, so it doesn’t matter if you want to make a video game or publish a book. Their categories include all of these things: comics, dance, design, fashion, film and video, food, games, music, photography, publishing, technology, and theater. First off anyone can start a project on Kickstarter, it is up to the general public and Kickstarter’s users to actually decide if your project deserves funding. Also people that donate get rewards depending on the size of their donations, the actual prizes are determined by the people that want the money and are normally things like getting the product for free, or maybe even meeting the makers in person. I personally think this website allows for cool stuff to get out there... I rather not say too much about it and this way allow for you to visit the website and find out just how cool it actually is.
On a side note please comment down below what you would prefer for me to do reviews on. Books, movies, websites, games, or whatever else you can think of.

Dude!!! I want that...
This site caught my eye with its unique street legal replica of Tron’s light cycle. It is of course not a real light cycle, but a motorcycle that looks like one… I assure you it still looks awesome. Dude!!! I want that… has a couple of cool things based on the movie Tron, if you aren’t a fan of Tron or even of movies in general the site still has some genuinely innovative stuff. For example they have a fancy display case that hovers and can carry any object that is up to 12 ounces. Yes it is not exactly useful; however I must advise you to look at it before you shun the idea to the back of your head, allowing it to disappear from all your fond memories that have all been created on this website. I came across this website completely by chance, but I found myself staying to look at the many things it sells.

Chuck
My favorite TV series is by far Chuck. For those of you that don’t know what Chuck is, Chuck is a series that mashes action, comedy, and romance. There have been attempts in the past to do this, but none worked out nearly as well as Chuck has. I’m not saying Chuck is perfect; many seem to think it is a terrible series because it is unrealistic. I agree that it is not the most realistic of series, but since when is TV supposed to be 100% realistic? Chuck is about a guy that works at a place called Buy More and makes very little an hour fixing computers. Then one day he gets an e mail from an old college friend, inside the e mail are all of the governments secrets, when Chuck opens it, they become his secrets. The NSA and the CIA send two agents to retrieve the information. That is how all of the action, romance, and comedy start. There have been spy shows before, yet none like this. Despite the few issues the show has I still rate it a 10/10, keep in mind it is my favorite show and I am probably biased: P
